Method

Preparation of Shrimp

  1. 1

    Season the Shrimp

In a large bowl, combine the whole shrimp with cracked black pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, ground cumin, dried oregano, dried thyme, and chili powder. Mix well to ensure that the shrimp are evenly coated with the spices.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Wok

Heat a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and let it heat until shimmering.

Cooking the Shrimp

  1. 3

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the seasoned shrimp to the hot wok in a single layer. Let them cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and crispy. Flip the shrimp and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until cooked through and a bit charred.

  2. 4

    Combine with Rice

Once the shrimp are cooked, remove them from the wok and set aside. In the same wok, add the steamed rice or brown rice. Stir-fry for a minute to combine the flavors.

  3. 5

    Serve

Plate the rice and top it with the cracked pepper shrimp. Serve immediately while hot.
