Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the burger patties

In a bowl, combine ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently and form into 4 equal patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of Tillamook sharp cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for another 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Prepare the toppings

While the burgers are cooking, slice the tomato and red onion. Prepare the lettuce and dill pickle chips.

  4. 4

    Assemble the burgers

Toast the hamburger buns if desired. On each bun bottom, layer lettuce, a burger patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, red onion rings, dill pickle chips, and your choice of ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the traditional red hawk burgers hot with your favorite sides.
