Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin, steak-like strips, about 1/4 inch thick, to resemble steak fries.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potato strips in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps achieve crispiness.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  4. 4

    Season the Fries

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the fries with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.

  5. 5

    Bake the Fries

Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot as a side to your favorite dish or enjoy them on their own!
