Onion Ring Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Onions
Peel the onions and slice them into 1/4-inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set aside.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Gradually whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth and well combined.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Dip and Fry
Dip each onion ring into the batter, allowing the excess to drip off. Carefully place the battered rings into the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- 5
Fry Until Golden Brown
Fry the onion rings for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Serve the hand-dipped, beer-battered onion rings hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
