Bruschetta Topping

Method

Prepare the Bruschetta Topping

  1. 1

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Basil and Garlic

Chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add both to the bowl with the tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Season the Mixture

Pour in the balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Mix everything gently until well combined.

  4. 4

    Let the Mixture Rest

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Make the Parmesan Croutons

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 6

    Slice the Bread

Cut the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  3. 7

    Prepare the Olive Oil Mixture

In a small bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, and dried oregano.

  4. 8

    Coat the Bread Slices

Brush both sides of each bread slice with the olive oil mixture.

  5. 9

    Add Parmesan Cheese

Sprinkle a generous amount of grated Parmesan cheese over each slice.

  6. 10

    Bake the Croutons

Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

Assemble the Bruschetta

  1. 11

    Top the Croutons

Remove the croutons from the oven and let them cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously over each crouton.

  2. 12

    Serve Immediately

Enjoy your homemade tomato bruschetta while the croutons are still warm and crispy!
