Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm milk (about 110°F) with active dry yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of all-purpose flour, the remaining sugar, and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and melted unsalted butter. Add the activated yeast mixture to this bowl.

  4. 4

    Combine Wet and Dry

Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.

  5. 5

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Filling Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Filling

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.

  2. 7

    Roll the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

  3. 8

    Add Filling

Spread the softened unsalted butter over the rolled-out dough, then evenly sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the top.

  4. 9

    Roll and Cut

Starting from one of the long sides, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.

  5. 10

    Second Rise

Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Baking

  1. 11

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 12

    Bake the Rolls

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Icing Preparation

  1. 13

    Make the Icing

In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Serving

  1. 14

    Glaze and Serve

Once the rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and immediately drizzle the icing over the warm rolls. Serve warm.
