Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Coffee
Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee and let it cool. Once cooled, add the dark rum or coffee liqueur to the coffee and set aside.
- 2
Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- 3
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
- 4
Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 5
Assemble the Tiramisu
In a rectangular dish, arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 6
Chill the Dessert
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- 7
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for garnish. Slice into portions and enjoy your homemade tiramisu!
