Preparation of Topping

Prepare the Tomatoes
Wash the tomatoes thoroughly. Remove the stems and chop them into small pieces.

Chop the Garlic
Peel the garlic cloves and finely mince them.

Prepare the Basil
Rinse the fresh basil leaves, pat them dry, and chop them coarsely.

Mix the Topping
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, minced garlic, and chopped basil. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Gently toss the mixture until all ingredients are evenly coated.

Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the sliced baguette on a baking sheet and brush each slice with olive oil. Toast in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of toasted bread.
