Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Take a portion of the mixture and roll it into balls about the size of golf balls. Place them on a tray.

  3. 3

    Cook Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté Vegetables

In the same skillet used for the meatballs, add olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add Garlic

Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

  3. 6

    Prepare Sauce

Stir in crushed tomatoes, fresh basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for about 15 minutes.

  4. 7

    Add Meatballs to Sauce

Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and simmer for another 20 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.

Spaghetti Preparation

  1. 8

    Cook Spaghetti

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 9

    Combine with Sauce

Once the meatballs are finished cooking in the sauce, serve the meatballs and marinara sauce over the cooked spaghetti.

  3. 10

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot.
