Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Vegetables
Wash the mixed greens thoroughly under cold water and dry them using a salad spinner or by patting them with a clean kitchen towel. Place the greens in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Add Tomatoes
Cut the grape tomatoes in half and add them to the bowl with the mixed greens.
- 3
Slice the Cucumber
Peel the cucumber if desired, then slice it into thin rounds or half-moons. Add the cucumber to the salad bowl.
- 4
Chop the Red Onion
Peel the red onion and slice it thinly. If the flavor is too strong, soak the slices in cold water for a few minutes, then drain. Add to the salad bowl.
- 5
Add Olives
Pit and slice the olives if they are not pre-sliced. Add the olives to the salad bowl.
- 6
Add Mozzarella
If using mozzarella balls, simply add them to the salad. If using cubed mozzarella, cut it into bite-sized pieces and add to the salad bowl.
Dressing Preparation
- 7
Make the Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, black pepper, Dijon mustard, and honey until well combined.
- 8
Dress the Salad
Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine all the ingredients evenly.
Serving
- 9
Serve the Salad
Serve the salad immediately as a fresh and vibrant side dish or as a light main course.
