Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the clams

Rinse the clams thoroughly under cold water to remove any sand or grit. Discard any clams that are open and do not close when tapped.

  2. 2

    Prepare the garlic and parsley

Mince the garlic cloves and chop the fresh parsley. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Melt the butter

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. 4

    Sauté garlic

Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 5

    Steam the clams

Add the cleaned clams to the pot and cover. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the clams open up. Discard any clams that do not open.

  4. 6

    Season and serve

Once the clams are opened, sprinkle with chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper to taste. Squeeze the juice of the lemon over the clams.

  5. 7

    Serve

Serve the clams immediately in a bowl with the garlic butter sauce for dipping.
