Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball. Return to low heat for about 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl. Allow to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and well combined.

Cinnamon Sugar Mixture

  1. 4

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.

Frying Churros

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Carefully pipe strips of dough (about 6 inches long) into the hot oil.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  4. 8

    Drain and Coat

Using a slotted spoon, remove the churros from the oil and drain on paper towels. While still warm, roll the churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
