Steak Preparation
- 1
Season the Steak
Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
- 2
Heat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Ensure your pan is hot enough to sear the steaks.
- 3
Cook the Steak
Add the ribeye steaks to the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them to get a good sear.
- 4
Add Butter and Aromatics
Flip the steaks over, add butter, garlic cloves, and rosemary to the pan. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, basting the steaks with the melted butter using a spoon.
- 5
Check for Doneness
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the steaks. For medium-rare, aim for 130°F (54°C). Remove steaks from the pan and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
