Seafood
Breading and Frying
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Seafood
Rinse the flounder fillet, shrimp, oysters, and crawfish tails under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels.
- 2
Make the Breading
In a shallow bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.
Frying
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large, deep skillet or fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Bread the Seafood
Coat the flounder fillet, shrimp, oysters, and stuffed crab in the breading mixture, pressing lightly to ensure an even coating.
- 5
Fry the Seafood
Carefully add the breaded seafood to the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried seafood from the oil. Place on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve immediately.
