Main Ingredients
Optional Marinade Ingredients
Preparation
1. Prepare the Marinade (Optional)
If you choose to marinate the steak, mix the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and fresh rosemary in a bowl. Add the sirloin steaks to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for more flavor).
2. Season the Steaks
Remove the steaks from the marinade (if used) and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
3. Prepare Garlic
Peel the garlic cloves and lightly crush them with the flat side of a knife.
Cooking
4. Heat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
5. Cook the Steak
Add the seasoned sirloin steaks to the hot skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them, until a nice crust forms.
6. Flip and Add Garlic
Flip the steaks over and add the crushed garlic cloves to the pan. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer your steak well done.
7. Rest the Steak
Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes before slicing.
