Fried Alligator Tail

Method

Fried Alligator Tail

  1. 1

    Marinate the Alligator

In a bowl, soak the alligator tail meat in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading

In a separate bowl, mix the cornmeal, flour, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Bread and Fry

Remove the alligator meat from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge in the cornmeal mixture, then fry in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Crawfish Tails

  1. 5

    Sauté the Garlic

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  2. 6

    Cook the Crawfish

Add the crawfish tails, lemon juice, salt, and cayenne pepper to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until heated through, stirring gently.

Shrimp

  1. 7

    Season the Shrimp

In a bowl, toss the peeled and deveined shrimp with Old Bay seasoning until evenly coated.

  2. 8

    Cook the Shrimp

In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Serve with lemon wedges.

Cocktail Sauce

  1. 9

    Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, combine ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and adjust seasoning to taste.
