Method

Seafood Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jumbo Shrimp

Peel and devein the jumbo shrimp, leaving the tails intact. Rinse under cold water and pat dry.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Stuffed Shrimp

If using pre-made stuffed shrimp, ensure they are thawed. If making from scratch, prepare stuffing and fill shrimp.

  3. 3

    Cook the Crab Cakes

Heat a skillet over medium heat with a bit of oil. Cook crab cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Oysters

If using raw oysters, shuck and place them on ice. If baking, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for about 10 minutes.

  5. 5

    Cook the Catfish

Season thin cut catfish with Old Bay seasoning. Pan-fry in a skillet with hot oil for about 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through.

Sides Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the French Fries

Follow the instructions on the frozen French fries package. Bake or fry until crispy and golden brown.

  2. 7

    Prepare the Hushpuppies

In a mixing bowl, combine hushpuppy mix with 1 cup of water. Stir until combined, then drop spoonfuls into hot oil and fry until golden brown.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Seafood Platter

Arrange the jumbo shrimp, stuffed shrimp, crab cakes, oysters, and catfish on a large platter. Serve with fries and hushpuppies on the side.

  2. 9

    Add Finishing Touches

Garnish the platter with lemon wedges and serve cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
