Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Steak
Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps in cooking evenly.
- 2
Season the Steaks
Generously season both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and black pepper. Ensure every bit of the meat is coated for maximum flavor.
Cooking
- 3
Heat the Pan
In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. You can test the heat by dropping a small piece of meat into the pan; it should sizzle immediately.
- 4
Sear the Steaks
Add the seasoned ribeye steaks to the hot pan. Sear for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them. This will create a nice crust.
- 5
Flip and Add Aromatics
Flip the steaks over and add the garlic cloves and rosemary to the pan. Cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.
- 6
- 7
Rest the Steaks
Remove the ribeye steaks from the pan and place them on a cutting board. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and let them rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
