Oysters

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This will ensure that your oysters cook evenly and the cheese melts perfectly.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Bacon

Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and let cool. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Jalapeños

Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds if you prefer a milder taste. Finely chop the jalapeños.

  4. 4

    Mix the Filling

In a bowl, combine the crumbled bacon, diced jalapeños, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well and then fold in the pepper jack cheese.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Oysters

Shuck the oysters carefully and place them on a baking sheet. Ensure they are stable and not tipping over.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 6

    Fill the Oysters

Spoon a generous amount of the cheese and bacon mixture onto each oyster, ensuring they are well covered.

  2. 7

    Bake the Oysters

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

  3. 8

    Serve

Remove the oysters from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the oysters.
