Method

Preparing the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Once boiling, add the Old Bay seasoning and sliced lemon. Stir well.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the jumbo shrimp to the boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp.

  3. 3

    Cool the Shrimp

Remove the shrimp from the pot and place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Drain and Chill

Drain the cooled shrimp and chill them in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup, prepared horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using).

  2. 6

    Mix Well

Stir the mixture until all ingredients are well combined. Adjust the horseradish and hot sauce to taste for desired spiciness.

  3. 7

    Chill the Sauce

Cover the cocktail sauce and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
