Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Burgers

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and top each patty with a slice of pepper jack cheese. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach your desired doneness.

Topping Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Buns

While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer the lettuce leaves, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese. Add the sliced tomato, pickles, and red onion on top.

Spicy Mayo Preparation

  1. 6

    Mix the Spicy Mayo

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, hot sauce, and garlic powder. Stir until well blended.

  2. 7

    Finish the Assembly

Spread a generous amount of spicy mayo on the top half of each toasted bun before placing it on top of the assembled burger.
