Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the dill pickle slices thoroughly on paper towels to remove excess moisture. This will help the breading adhere better.

Breading Process

  1. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, place the all-purpose flour in the first, beat the eggs with milk in the second, and mix the cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in the third.

  2. 3

    Bread the Pickles

Take each pickle slice, dip it into the flour, shaking off the excess, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat it with the cornmeal mixture. Ensure each slice is evenly coated.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.

  2. 5

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully place the breaded pickle slices in the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through.

  3. 6

    Drain

Once fried, use a slotted spoon to remove the pickles from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve

Arrange the fried dill pickles on a serving plate and serve hot with ranch dressing for dipping.
