Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature is ideal for roasting.
- 2
Prepare the Asparagus
Rinse the asparagus under cold water to remove any dirt. Trim the woody ends of the asparagus by snapping them off or cutting about an inch from the bottom.
- 3
Season the Asparagus
Place the trimmed asparagus on a large baking sheet. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, then sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Toss the asparagus to ensure they are evenly coated in the oil and seasoning.
- 4
Add Lemon Flavor
Squeeze the juice of 2 tablespoons of lemon over the seasoned asparagus and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of lemon zest for extra flavor.
Cooking
- 5
Roast the Asparagus
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 12-15 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender and slightly crispy. You can shake the pan halfway through for even cooking.
- 6
Serve
Remove the asparagus from the oven and transfer to a serving platter. Optionally, you can drizzle a little more lemon juice on top before serving.
