Method
Steak Preparation
Preheat the grill
Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes.
Grill the steak
Place the seasoned ribeye steaks on the grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until the desired doneness is achieved. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy; medium-rare is about 130°F (54°C).
Rest the steak
Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
Fries Preparation
Prepare the potatoes
Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into evenly sized strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
Soak the fries
Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This will help achieve crispiness.
Dry the fries
Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Heat the oil
In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the potatoes
Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Season the fries
Sprinkle the fries with salt while they are still hot for better adherence.
