Method

Preparing the Short Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

Rub the beef short ribs with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Make sure they are evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Brown the Ribs

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned short ribs and sear them on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  3. 3

    Slow Cook the Ribs

Transfer the browned short ribs to a slow cooker. Pour in the beef broth. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender and falls off the bone.

  4. 4

    Shred the Meat

Once cooked, remove the ribs from the slow cooker. Allow to cool slightly, then shred the meat using two forks, discarding any bones and excess fat.

Making the Sliders

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

Slice the slider buns in half and set aside.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Sliders

Place a generous amount of shredded short rib on the bottom half of each slider bun. Top with a slice of cheddar cheese.

  3. 7

    Grill the Sliders

Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat. Butter the outside of each slider bun. Place the assembled sliders onto the griddle and cook until the buns are golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve with Toppings

Serve the grilled cheese sliders warm with optional toppings like pickles, sliced jalapeños, or BBQ sauce on the side.
