Main Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch. This ensures even cooking.
- 2
Season and Dredge
Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. Dredge each piece in all-purpose flour, shaking off any excess.
Cooking
- 3
Sauté the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

- 5
Add the Wine and Broth
Pour in the Marsala wine and chicken broth. Scrape the bottom of the skillet with a wooden spoon to deglaze, incorporating all the flavorful bits from the chicken and mushrooms.
- 6
Combine and Simmer
Return the chicken to the skillet. Reduce the heat and let it simmer in the sauce for about 10 minutes. The sauce will reduce slightly and thicken.
- 7
Finish the Dish
Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until melted and the sauce is glossy. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
Serving
- 8
Garnish and Serve
Serve the Chicken Marsala hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley. It pairs well with pasta, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.
