Method
Prepare the Meat Sauce
- 1
Cook the Meat
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
- 3
Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Prepare the Cheese Mixture
- 4
Mix Cheeses
In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined and set aside.
Assemble the Lasagna
- 5
Layer the Ingredients
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). In a large baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat this process: add another layer of meat sauce, noodles, and cheese mixture. Finish with a layer of meat sauce and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake the Lasagna
- 6
Bake
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- 7
Cool and Serve
Allow the lasagna to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
