Cooking the Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Cook Spaghetti
Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente.

Drain
Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.
Making the Sauce

Sauté Garlic
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add Tomatoes
Add the canned crushed tomatoes to the skillet. Stir in the fresh basil, salt, and black pepper.

Simmer
Let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
Combining and Serving

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce and toss until the pasta is well coated.

Serve
Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
