Burgers & Witches

Method

Burgers & Witches

  1. 1

    Prep and gather

Gather all ingredients: two hamburger buns, one 100% organic beef patty, two lettuce leaves, two tomato slices, four rings of red onion, sweet tomato chutney, aioli, one Edam cheese slice, salt, black pepper, and a little neutral oil for brushing.

  2. 2

    Prep vegetables

Rinse the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato into two even slices. Slice the red onion into four thin rings.

  3. 3

    Season patty

Season the beef patty on both sides with salt and black pepper.

  4. 4

    Toast buns

Lightly brush the inside of the burger buns with neutral oil and toast on a hot skillet or grill until golden and fragrant.

  5. 5

    Cook patty and melt cheese

Cook the beef patty on medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place the Edam cheese slice on top of the patty to melt.

  6. 6

    Assemble base

Spread sweet tomato chutney on the bottom bun to create a flavorful base.

  7. 7

    Layer vegetables

Place a lettuce leaf on the chutney-covered bottom bun, followed by the two tomato slices and four red onion rings arranged neatly.

  8. 8

    Add patty and finish

Place the melted-cheese patty on top of the onions. Dollop aioli on the top bun and crown the burger with the top bun to complete the Queenstown Fave.

  9. 9

    Serve

Serve immediately while warm. Optionally cut in half for sharing.
