Fried Chicken Sandwich

Method

Fried Chicken Sandwich

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

In a bowl, combine buttermilk, egg, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts and marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight in the refrigerator for best results.

  2. 2

    Dredge the Chicken

In another bowl, mix all-purpose flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Remove the chicken from the marinade and dredge each piece in the flour mixture until well coated.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chicken

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the chicken pieces and fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sandwich

Toast the brioche buns lightly. On the bottom half of each bun, layer a leaf of lettuce, a slice of tomato, a fried chicken breast, a slice of pepper jack cheese, and two slices of beef bacon. Drizzle spicy sauce over the top and close with the other half of the bun.

Fries

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into thin strips to make fries. Rinse them in cold water to remove excess starch and pat dry with a paper towel.

  2. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the potato strips in batches and fry for about 4-5 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate, then sprinkle with salt to taste.
