Preparing the Topping

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the Roma tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

Add Basil
Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

Prepare Garlic
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the tomato and basil mixture.

Season the Mixture
Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over the mixture and season with salt and black pepper. Gently toss everything together until well combined.
Toasting the Bread

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Slice the Bread
Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Brush with Olive Oil
Place the slices on a baking sheet and brush each side with extra virgin olive oil.

Toast the Bread
Toast the bread in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and crispy.
Assembling the Bruschetta

Top the Bread
Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously on top of each slice.
