Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs

Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then whisk in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually stir this into the butter and sugar mixture until just combined.

  5. 5

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

  6. 6

    Bake the Brownies

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  7. 7

    Cool and Serve

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then cut into squares and serve warm with vanilla bean ice cream, caramel, hot fudge, and candied pecans.
