Prepare the Pork
In a large bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the pork shoulder.

Cook the Pork
Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, and cider vinegar. Pour 1 cup of BBQ sauce over the top. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart.

Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Shred the pork using two forks and return it to the slow cooker. Mix in the remaining BBQ sauce.

Serve
Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Serve the pulled pork on the buns and top with coleslaw if using.
