Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Rinse the corned beef brisket under cold water to remove excess salt. Place the brisket in a large pot.

  2. 2

    Add the Liquids

Pour in the water and beef broth until the brisket is fully submerged.

  3. 3

    Add Spices

Add the minced garlic, bay leaves, black peppercorns, mustard seeds, coriander seeds, and allspice berries into the pot.

  4. 4

    Bring to a Boil

Bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and cover.

  5. 5

    Simmer the Brisket

Let the brisket simmer for about 2.5 to 3 hours, or until tender.

  6. 6

    Add Vegetables

After 2.5 hours, add the carrots, potatoes, and cabbage to the pot. Cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes.

  7. 7

    Serve

Once the brisket is fork-tender and the vegetables are cooked, remove from heat. Let the brisket rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain. Serve with the vegetables.
