Burger Patties

Brisket Topping

Method

Preparing the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each.

  3. 3

    Chill the Patties

Refrigerate the patties for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while cooking.

Cooking the Burger Patties

  1. 4

    Grill the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.

  2. 5

    Add the Brisket

In the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a generous amount of cooked brisket and a drizzle of smoky BBQ sauce. Cover to melt the cheese if desired.

Making the Onion Strings

  1. 6

    Soak the Onions

In a bowl, soak the sliced onions in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 7

    Prepare the Coating

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 8

    Coat the Onions

Remove the onions from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Toss the onions in the flour mixture until well coated.

  4. 9

    Fry the Onions

In a deep skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Fry the coated onions in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 10

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, place a patty topped with brisket and BBQ sauce. Add crispy onion strings on top.

  2. 11

    Add Optional Garnishes

If desired, add pickles, lettuce, and sliced tomatoes.

  3. 12

    Finish and Serve

Top with the other half of the bun, serve immediately, and enjoy your Station 8 Brisket Burger!
