Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all your ingredients. Make sure the corned beef is sliced, the sauerkraut is drained, and the Swiss cheese is ready to use.
Assembling the Sandwich

Layer the Sandwich
Take two slices of rye bread and spread 2 tablespoons of Thousand Island dressing on one side of each slice.

Add Corned Beef
On one slice of bread (dressing side up), layer 4 oz of corned beef evenly.

Add Sauerkraut
Top the corned beef with 1/2 cup of drained German sauerkraut.

Add Swiss Cheese
Place 2 slices of Swiss cheese on top of the sauerkraut.

Close the Sandwich
Place the other slice of rye bread on top, dressing side down.
Grilling

Heat the Pan
Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.

Slice and Serve
Once grilled, remove the sandwich from the pan and let it rest for a minute. Slice it in half and serve hot with extra Thousand Island dressing on the side if desired.
