Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jalapenos

Wearing gloves, slice each jalapeno in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes to reduce heat.

  2. 2

    Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Stuff the Jalapenos

Using a spoon or a piping bag, fill each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture.

Breading Process

  1. 4

    Prepare the Breading Stations

Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs.

  2. 5

    Bread the Jalapenos

Dip each stuffed jalapeno in flour, then coat it in beaten eggs, and finally roll it in bread crumbs until well coated.

Cooking

  1. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).

  2. 7

    Fry the Jalapenos

Carefully place the breaded jalapenos in the hot oil, a few at a time. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.

  3. 8

    Drain and Serve

Once fried, remove the jalapenos from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm.
