Prep Ingredients

  1. 1

    Slice Vegetables

Thinly slice the medium onion and green bell pepper. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare Mayonnaise

In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise with a pinch of salt and pepper for added flavor. Set aside.

Cook the Beef

  1. 3

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook Beef

Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and cooked through.

Cook the Vegetables

  1. 5

    Sauté Onions and Peppers

Add the sliced onions and green bell peppers to the skillet with the beef. Sauté for another 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

Assemble the Cheesesteaks

  1. 6

    Add Cheese

Place 2 slices of pepper jack cheese on top of the beef and vegetable mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.

  2. 7

    Prepare Buns

While the cheese melts, slice the hoagie buns open. Spread the prepared mayonnaise on the inside of each bun.

  3. 8

    Fill the Buns

Using a spatula, carefully scoop the cheesesteak mixture into each hoagie bun.

Serve

  1. 9

    Enjoy!

Serve the cheesesteaks warm. Optionally, you can add extra toppings like hot sauce or additional sautéed vegetables according to your preference.
