Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

If using store-bought pizza dough, let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. If making homemade dough, prepare it according to your recipe and allow it to rise until doubled in size.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to its highest setting (usually around 250°C / 482°F) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.

  3. 3

    Shape the Pizza Base

On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll out the pizza dough into a round shape, about 10-12 inches in diameter. Transfer to a pizza peel or parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Spread a thin layer of pomodoro sauce over the base, leaving a small border around the edges. Tear the mozzarella into pieces and distribute evenly over the sauce.

  5. 5

    Bake the Pizza

Carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for about 8-10 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

  6. 6

Finish with Basil and Olive Oil

Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately scatter fresh basil leaves over the top. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt to taste.

  7. 7

    Slice and Serve

Allow the pizza to cool for a minute, then slice it into wedges and serve immediately.
