Preparation
Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Slice the baguette
Cut the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices, about 12 slices total.
Brush with olive oil
Place the slices on a baking sheet and brush one side of each slice with olive oil.
Toast the bread
Place the baking sheet in the oven and toast for about 5-7 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
Topping Preparation
Chop the tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
Prepare the basil
Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with tomatoes.
Add garlic
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the tomato and basil mixture.
Season the mixture
Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
Assembly
Top the toasted bread
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously on top of each slice.
Serve
Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is still warm. Enjoy your delicious appetizer!
