Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Add olive oil, salt, and gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 5
Shape and Top the Pizzas
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 2-4 equal portions based on your desired pizza size.
- 6
Roll out each portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- 7
Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread tomato sauce over the base, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- 8
Add your choice of toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, olives, etc.) and finish with fresh basil leaves.
- 9
Bake the Pizzas
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 10
Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, slice, and enjoy!
