Method

Pulled Pork Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, onion powder, and paprika. Place the pork in a slow cooker.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

Add the apple cider vinegar and BBQ sauce to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

  3. 3

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Mix the shredded pork back with the BBQ sauce in the slow cooker. Keep warm.

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 4

    Form the Patties

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined and form into 4 equal patties.

  2. 5

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook the applewood smoked bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. 7

    Toast the Buns

Optional: Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  3. 8

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer shredded pulled pork, followed by the beef patty with melted cheese, crispy bacon, pickles, lettuce, and tomato slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
