Method
Cooking Pasta
- 1
Prepare the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Once cooked, drain and set aside, reserving a cup of the pasta water.
Grilling Chicken
- 2
Season and Grill the Chicken
While the pasta is cooking, season the chicken breasts with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Once done, remove from the grill and let it rest before slicing it into strips.
Making Alfredo Sauce
- 3
Prepare the Alfredo Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the stick of butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then, pour in the heavy cream and stir well. Bring to a gentle simmer and let it cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- 4
Add Cheese and Season
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper. If the sauce is too thick, use some reserved pasta water to thin it to your desired consistency.
Combining Ingredients
- 5
Combine Pasta and Sauce
In a large mixing bowl or pot, combine the cooked fettuccine pasta with the Alfredo sauce. Toss until the pasta is well coated.
- 6
Serve with Chicken
Plate the creamy fettuccine Alfredo and top with the sliced grilled chicken. Garnish with chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
