Method
Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or grit. Shake off excess water or use a salad spinner to dry the leaves.
- 2
Chop the Lettuce
Once dry, chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.
Croutons Preparation
- 3
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 4
Prepare the Bread
Cut the bread into small cubes, about 1-inch in size.
- 5
Mix with Olive Oil and Seasonings
In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Toss well to ensure the bread is evenly coated.
- 6
Bake the Croutons
Spread the coated bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown, tossing halfway through for even cooking.
- 7
Cool the Croutons
Once done, remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the croutons to cool.
Dressing Preparation
- 8
Combine Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
- 9
Whisk Together
Using a whisk or fork, mix all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
Assembly
- 10
Combine Salad Components
In the bowl with the chopped romaine, add the croutons and drizzle the Caesar dressing over the top.
- 11
Toss the Salad
Gently toss the salad until all ingredients are well coated with dressing.
- 12
Serve
Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor. Optionally, sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese on top.
