Method

Preparation of the topping

  1. 1

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Garlic

Mince the garlic cloves finely and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Add Basil

Chop the fresh basil leaves into small pieces and add them to the bowl.

  4. 4

    Season the Mixture

Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the tomato mixture. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

Prepare the Bread

  1. 5

    Slice the Baguette

Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices at a diagonal angle.

  2. 6

    Toast the Bread

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the sliced baguette on a baking sheet and brush each slice with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove the toasted baguette slices from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously on top of each slice.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while the bread is still warm, and enjoy your fresh bruschetta!
