Mascarpone Mixture

Method

Prepare Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew Espresso

Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee and allow it to cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix Coffee Liqueur

In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso with 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur.

Prepare Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 3 tablespoons of sugar until pale and creamy.

  2. 4

    Add Mascarpone

Gently fold in 500g of mascarpone cheese until well combined.

  3. 5

    Whip Heavy Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form.

  4. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until smooth. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix gently.

Assemble Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, create a layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by half of the mascarpone mixture. Repeat with another layer of ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  3. 9

    Chill Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Serve Tiramisu

  1. 10

    Dust with Cocoa

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder.

  2. 11

    Slice and Serve

Slice into squares and serve chilled, optionally garnished with chocolate shavings or coffee beans.
