Method

Pro Sauce Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the sauce ingredients

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well blended. Set aside.

Burger Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the beef patties

Divide the ground beef into two equal portions (about 8 ounces each). Form them loosely into balls.

  2. 3

    Cook the burgers

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the beef balls onto the skillet. Using a heavy spatula, smash each ball down to create a thin patty. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. 4

    Add cheese

Cook the patties for about 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip them over. Place a slice of American cheese on each patty and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Toast the buns

While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on a separate skillet or in the oven until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Assemble the burger

Spread a generous amount of pro sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add the cooked cheeseburger patty, then top with lettuce and sliced onion. Place the top half of the bun over the toppings.
