Chocolate Mousse Directions

Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Place over a pot of simmering water, stirring occasionally until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Prepare Egg Mixture
In a separate bowl, whisk the large eggs and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Mixtures
Slowly add the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring continuously until well combined.

Whip Cream
In another bowl, whip the 300 ml of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until no white streaks remain.

Chill the Mousse
Spoon the mousse into serving dishes or glasses. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.

Prepare Whipped Cream
In a bowl, combine 100 ml of heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer or whisk, beat until soft peaks form.

Once the mousse has set, remove from the refrigerator. Top each serving with a dollop of whipped cream before serving.
