Method
Prepare the Bread
- 1
Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch slices diagonally.
- 2
Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Prepare the Topping
- 3
Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
- 4
Chop the Basil
Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.
- 5
Mince the Garlic
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes and basil.
- 6
Season the Mixture
Add salt and black pepper to the bowl, mixing gently to combine all ingredients. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Assemble the Bruschetta
- 7
Top the Bread
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously on each toasted slice of bread.
- 8
Serve
Serve immediately while the bread is warm and the topping is fresh.
