Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cilantro Crema

In a small bowl, combine sour cream, lime juice, and garlic powder. Mix well until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning with salt if needed. Set aside.

  2. 2

Cook the Beef (or Vegetarian Protein)

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef (or vegetarian protein). Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Red Onion

Thinly slice the red onion and set aside.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Layer the Nachos

On a large baking sheet or oven-safe platter, spread out the tortilla chips evenly. Top with cooked ground beef (or vegetarian protein) and shredded cheddar cheese.

  2. 5

    Bake the Nachos

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the assembled nachos in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  3. 6

    Add Toppings

Once out of the oven, sprinkle the pickled jalapeños, sliced red onion, and chopped cilantro over the melted cheese.

  4. 7

    Serve

Drizzle the cilantro crema over the top and serve immediately with extra crema on the side if desired.
